When the Annual Training Cycle Doesn't Fit: Data Protection for Support, Supply and Short-Term Staff

Annual data protection training works well for core staff, but it often misses the people who arrive at short notice or whose roles don't look like "data" jobs: supply teachers, cleaners, caretakers and contractors. These staff still see personal data every day, and they share their own with your organisation too. Our new training pack is built for them, including a free Quick Guide for Emergency & Supply Teaching Staff developed with Garth Hill College.

Knowledge Bank Updates: What's New

It's been a busy summer behind the scenes of the DPE Knowledge Bank. Alongside the new academic year checklists and cyber alerts you'll have seen in our regular articles, we've been steadily updating of the portal: new courses, new guidance documents, a reorganised menu structure, and upgrades to several of the compliance tools you use every day. Social Media Policy

We've created a model Social Media Policy. The policy outlines guidelines and expectations for the use of social media platforms by individuals and employees associated with an organisation.

The primary aim of the policy is to ensure responsible, respectful and effective use of social media while protecting the organisation's reputation and interests.

Using Tags if you are a group of organisations in the DPE Knowledge Bank

If you are a group of organisations such as a multi academy trust and a member of the central team, it can be useful to view all of the organisations/schools and the main organisation/trust details all at once in several of the Knowledge Bank pages to give an overview. When your organisation are added into the Knowledge Bank, we will have tagged them all appropriately.
